If the voltage of the charger exceeds the specified voltage on the device, it is not a good idea to use it.
Amperage is as important as voltage, and even more important. Ampere is the current supplied to the device to regulate the power flowing from the power source to the device. To properly charge your device, the amperage on the charger or power supply should match or exceed the power required by your device.
